With decades of experience, we know our local market.
How Does Our Fertilizing Service Work?
We provide seven rounds of fertilizer about 4-6 weeks apart that contain: fertilizer, broadleaf weed control, and pre-emergent crabgrass control with an 8th application of grub control. You’ll be proud of how your lawn looks. And don’t worry, we offer a satisfaction guarantee so you can be sure you made the right decision. Learn More about what to expect with each visit below!
Rounds 1- 3: The Start of A Healthy Lawn
We start your lawn care service with:
- Fertilizer
- Pre-Emergent Weed Control
- Post Emergent Broadleaf weed control
We like to kick off the season with a foundation that promotes lawn health, growth, improved color, and vigor.
Our Fertilizers contain nutrients essential for plant growth. Urban soils often lack sufficient nutrients to support healthy turfgrass plants for an extended period of time. Lawn Fertilization provides the additional nutrition essential for plant growth, health and vigor.
Nearly every visit includes a fertilizer application since plants use and deplete available nutrients, requiring nutrient inputs regularly throughout the season.
Pre-Emergent Weed Control
In addition to fertilizer, we apply Pre-emergent weed control that prevents common weeds like crabgrass, nutsedge and foxtail from germinating later in the season.
What does Pre-Emergent Service do?
Our pre-emergent creates a soil barrier for grassy weed seeds that would otherwise germinate. The benefits of this service span from May until August so you can enjoy a weed free lawn once the summer rolls around.
Post-Emergent Broadleaf Weed Control
To cap off your lawn’s foundation for the year, we apply a Post-emergent broadleaf weed applicant to control existing weeds.
What does Post-Emergent service do?
Post-emergent affects the ability of these invasive plants to grow and the results are typically seen within a couple of weeks if you do have visible broadleaf weeds early in the season.
Surface Insect Control
Our Insect Control Application is specifically designed for adult chinch bug populations so we can reduce and even prevent the likelihood of chinch bug damage to your lawn during the summer months.
Grub Control
Grub activity will destroy any potential your lawn has of thriving during the summer. We prevent this problem with grub control. If you’re familiar with grub problems, then you know it’s an issue that takes the nutrients right out of your lawn. They create dead patches in your turf that can be surprisingly large so its important to get rid of grubs.
Timing is critical when it comes to grub control, our lawn care program is designed to apply grub prevention in the late spring/early summer when it’s most crucial.
Does Grub Control Really Work?
Our grub control is guaranteed and, if there is a breakthrough, we use a curative treatment to terminate any active grubs from your lawn.
Rounds 4-7: Handling the Summer Heat
With a healthy foundation for your lawn, our team applies these balanced fertilizing applications in a timely manner. During the summer months, we adjust your program to
better serve your needs. The extreme heat limits healthy plant development and supports weeds so we address this problem with specialized weed control.
- Attacks any visible broadleaf weeds and that pesky yellow nutsedge that seems to take over lawns this time of year
- Another surface insect application to control chinch bugs and Sod webworm.
- Nurtures & Repairs the lawn from the initial shock of the extreme summer temps
Round 8: Winterize Your Lawn
While Aeration and Seeding is one of the best ways to prep your lawn for harsh temps, the final round of our program contains a potassium application (when temperatures are cold enough - otherwise, nitrogen is used) that was developed to improve turf tolerance for stressors such as:
- Disease
- Extreme cold or heat
- Foot traffic
Not only does it strengthen your lawn against natural stressors, it also plays a critical role in turgor pressure, which is just a really fancy way to say it improves plant resilience and strengthens your lawn as you head into cooler months.
Benefits of Maintained Turfgrass
If you’re still wondering, “Why make the investment?” Keep in mind that a healthy, maintained lawn is more than just pleasing to the eye.
- A small sized lawn releases enough oxygen to meet the needs of a family of four for 24 hours
- Absorbs harmful elements such as carbon dioxide and ozone.
- Can Add 15% to a home’s value.
- Investment recovery rate of 100-200% compared to a 40-70% rate for a patio or deck.
- Lawn Care Services containing regularly scheduled fertilizing applications keep your turf healthy, dense and green.
