Green Lawn Fertilizing / Green Pest Solutions Supports Local Organization Chester County Futures

At Green Lawn Fertilizing, our focus has always been to support local charities that help improve the community. On Thursday, May 21st Green Lawn Fertilizing / Green Pest Solutions made a $2,500 donation to Chester County Futures.  President, Matt Jesson, also gave an impassioned commencement speech to the 2015 Chester County Futures graduation class at the organization’s annual banquet.

Chester County Futures is a poverty prevention program providing academic mentoring and scholarship support for motivated, disadvantaged Chester County youth. Their goal is to prepare students for college and teach them life skills to be self-sufficient. Their Passport to College program provides high school students study skills, PSAT and SAT preparation, technology such as laptop computers, financial aid application, and career exploration among many other benefits.

Green Lawn Fertilizing is passionate about the mission of Chester County Futures and Matt Jesson’s commencement speech evoked that passion. He called out to the graduation class that “In life, you are going to find a lot of people who don’t believe in you!  You are going to hit many walls.   If you have passion and you are confident it will work. Don’t listen to anyone!  Believe in yourself, you can make it happen! And you will make it happen!”  As a person who came from humble beginnings himself, Matt was able to draw from his own experience to demonstrate to the students that hard work trumps all on the path to success. He told the graduates “I was not always the smartest person in the room, but the one thing I always knew was I would outwork anyone!  You can always outwork anyone no matter your past.”

The banquet was a fitting celebration to the 2015 Chester County Futures high-school graduating class. As the students go off to college they will be prepared for success with the life skills they have learned from their time in the Passport to College program.
