After Aeration & Seeding Instructions
The following steps are crucial for best results.
1. Water the Lawn
Optimal germination can only occur if the lawn is properly watered in the 2-3 weeks following the aeration and seeding. If there is no precipitation, it is recommended that the lawn is watered daily in the morning. Intermittent watering should continue for the remainder of the growing season as needed.
*Don't have an irrigation system, no problem — you can create zones throughout your lawn using a garden hose and sprinkler.
Here is a great article on watering best practices that shares how much to water and of course, when.
2. Delay Mowing
Do not mow the newly seeded lawn for a minimum of 10 days, and when mowing resumes, use the highest available setting to avoid contacting the newly germinated seedlings.
3. Avoid Heavy Traffic
Avoid activities that will put stress on the treated areas.
4. Fertilize
If you don't currently have a fertilizing program we highly recommend putting down starter fertilizer to ensure the new grass plants have plenty of opportunity to grow before dormancy.
